Ettore Sottsass
Ettore Sottsass (1917-2007) born in Innsbruck, Austria. Ettore Sottsass loved to paint but studied as an architecture like his father wanted. His father will didn´t stop Ettore from drawing. He always uses a way to think through his hands, he always carried a camera with him. He took pictures of everything from walls, hotels, rooms, doorways and kitchens. He wanted to remember and understand the world but it wasn´t his sketching and painting or photography. But he known for his designs, he was one of the major forces believed the flood of design that came out of Italy after war. He first break was with Olivetti, when Sottsass came along electronics was a serious business. The machine were large, old and scary, but Ettore made them fun, friendly and sexy. He is also known for his Valentines typewriter. He went to India to find out more about more about life. He discovered in India to find out more about life. He discovered that in India there was colour and emotion he loved the way even poor people wear bright colours and had bright homes. These colours stayed with him for his rest of his career. He went to America in the ideas of Pop Art and after he went to Italy determined to shape thing up. Even in his 1960s he was unstoppable, He founded the Memphis group in the early 1980s. The Memphis group was Internationally famous. Sottsass said ´´that Memphis is like a very strong drug you cannot take to much``
Sottsass loved architecture, his buildings could make you smile One of his favourite objects was the Navy chair which he redesigned the chair. He took his inspiration of the new Navy chair back to Milan.

Robert Morris
Robert Morris born in 1931 Kanses city, he was a sculptor and a painter the want at the University of Kanses and after he went to Kanses city Art Institute. He is one of the most prominent theorist of Minimalism along with Donald Judd. He made many contributions in art, minimalism, land art Process Art movement and Installation art. He is now living in New York.

Donald Judd
Donald Judd born (1928-1994) was an American sculptor and art writer. He studied at the Art Students League, New York. He started as a painter in the early 1960s into low-reliefs, the into high-reliefs and free standing works. He designed wall pieces and floor pieces with geometric shapes and he didn´t use a base for his sculptures. First he used wood for his sculptors but he began to use metal and perspex too.

Achille Castiglioni
Achille Castiglioni born in Milan 1918. He graduated with a degree in architecture from Milan Polytechnic. He joined his elder brother Livio and Pier Giacomo in the design studio. In 1947 Achille joins the committee of the Milan Triennale in which he played an active role for many years. He became creative consultant RAI, the Italian broadcast network. In 1968 Pier Giacomo dies and left Achille to continue working on his own. In the 70s he worked for Flos, Zanotta. Achille died in 2002 in Milan.
